Annular-ring couplings for very low starting torque and controlled acceleration of conveyors.

Type AR fluid couplings are built with an annular ring and an extra-long delayfil chamber. During the initial rotation the annular ring fills up and the working circuit is partially emptied, enabling very low torque transmission during motor run-up. This gives very quick acceleration of motor speed and rapid decay of motor current.
Acceleration is then followed by a controlled increase in transmitted torque as the delayfil chamber oil empties gradually into the working circuit. Torque is built up smoothly, delivering a controlled acceleration torque to the driven machine — ideal for the high-inertia, long-run starting demands of belt conveyors.
SM-DX-AR couplings are built with a hollow shaft on one end and a rubber coupling on the other end. HF-DX-AR couplings are radially displaceable fluid couplings with metallic disc couplings on both ends.
