From iron ore and coal at the raw-material yard to sinter, blast furnace and rolling, a steel works depends on a fleet of heavy drives that start against high inertia and run continuously in dust and heat. Fluidomat couplings let motors start on no load, decay the starting-current kick in seconds and protect every drive from jams and overload — while variable-speed scoop couplings turn fan and pump speed control into real energy savings.
